This is to wish readers of this new blog site a new year, of overflowing peace, joy, prosperity, health, safety, promotions, gladness plus all that you wish yourselves, in 2014 and beyond.
Apart from sports being a microcosm of a nation, it is an investment in the health and socio-economic performance of a nation. Sports also has the ability to inspire and change societies. In Nigeria, for example, sports - especially football, is regarded as the only 'thread' that unites us as a Nation. Not religion or politics.
Interestingly, however, the core values of sports, which, we believe can assist tremendously in making Nigeria and the entire world a very peaceful place, have not been adequately addressed.
This is why we have decided that this blog site will be totally dedicated to discussing these core values of sports with you, throughout 2014 and deo-volente, beyond.
Fair play, hard work, discipline, tolerance, team work, hope, giving, punctuality, planning, humility, perseverance, love, obedience, support, boldness, kindness, honesty, creativity, forgiveness, self control, fun, respect, determination, patience, humor, courage, sincerity, focus, commitment, confidence, sacrifice, reconciliation, healing, transformation, re-integration, credibility, co-operation, concern, rest, - the list continues, are some of the core values, we will be discussing on this site.
Well, will this be of any use to the socio-economic, political, religious and other very sensitive issues being currently experienced in Nigeria and the entire world?

ReplyDeleteI believe these core values will certainly be of use to the socio-economic, political and religious sectors of these Nation as these values are necessary not just in sports but in all sectors of our nation, to give us the Nigeria of our dreams.
