AND, BRAZIL, WILL WIN AGAIN !!!

My very good friend and role model - Pele, said so.Her Excellency - the Brazilian President also said so. And guess what, nobody has disputed the statement. The Brazilian President said - "we will receive this cup with pride" With PRIDE? Aah well, easy now, President. Pride precedes destruction please and i don't have to remind you of the catastrophic "victory anthem" that was composed before the 1950 world cup finals, that took place in Rio de Janeiro.
But sincerely, expunge the word - pride, i believe that Brazil has the capability to win the 2014 world cup finals and mark my word, the cup is staying in Brazil. Uruguay, Italy, England, West Germany, Argentina and France, have all won world cups in their own countries. Brazil is yet to win as a host. I havel a very strong feeling that this is the time to do so. The July 16, 1950 tragedy notwithstanding.
After all, there is no more Mayor Angelo Mendes de Moraes, who " saluted the Brazilian victors" before the match, only for them to be defeated. Even the wooden goal posts of the 1950 Maracana stadium, especially the goal post that recorded the goal scored at exactly 4:33 pm by Uruguay's Ghiggia, have been burnt by Barbosa, the Brazilian goalkeeper in 1963, in a bon fire used to prepare barbecue in Barbosa's house, as an act of "liturgic purification". I believe such a "fateful final", as it has been referred to in Brazil, will never happen again.
It is also very certain that Brazil will not play in the accursed "white shirts", with blue collars, during this 2014 cup finals, as was the case in 1950. Never again!!! Any colour outside the colours of the Brazilian flag - blue, white, green and yellow, has been considered a taboo and  not nationalistic.
Are these enough reasons for the cup to remain in Brazil, after the finals? Maybe not.
With Filipe Scolari, supported by Mario Sagallo and those experienced tacticians/trainers and football psychologists handling the 'SAMBA BOYS', FIFA number one world ranking (i don't believe in the ku-dung rankings anyway and i have no apologies please) team - Spain, i assure you will go back home with 4 goals, this time around.
Take a good look at the Brazilian players and you are looking at futebollers  with exceptional football techniques, breath-taking masterly display of football skills, that make you experience "football orgasm" (no porn please), if you are a genuine lover of beautiful football a.k.a. jogo bonito. Please mention a match since Luiz Scolari and Zagallo took over the team, that the Brazil did not dominate possession, either in victory or defeat.
Okay Paul, are these still enough reasons for Brazil to win? NO!!!
The primary reason for the success of Brazilian football victories is guess what - GOD!!!
Brazilian footballers believe in HIM.           
      

YELLOW CARD FOR SEPP BLATTER.

FIFA president - Sepp Blatter quickly soft - pedaled after receiving a 'yellow card' from Her Excellency, the Brazilian President Rouseff, on Monday the 6th of January, 2014. Blatter had twitted that :- "Brazil is the farthest behind of any host country, since i've been at FIFA and moreover, it's the only one that had so much time - seven years, to prepare itself. Brazil has just realized what it means to organize a world cup".
Whaoh!!! Good shot mon president, but the ball did not hit the back of the net, as you expected, it went over the bar. So sorry SIR.
Then came a very swift counter-attack from the Brazilian President, as her Excellency twitted " we love football and we will receive this cup with pride and we will make it the cup of cups". Well taken shot your Excellency and it is a g-g o-o-o-a-a-a-l-l-l !!!
And of course, Blatter admitted by twitting that " i fully agree with Rouseff's tweets today. The whole world, including me, is looking forward to the cup of cups. Brazil will be a great host. "
On the head mon president Blatter. Sincerely, you have hit the nail on the head. BRAZIL WILL BE A GREAT HOST. Period. The entire world is excitedly looking forward to the 2014 FIFA World cup finals, to deo-volente hold in Brazil. There is no any option B plan for the hosting.
I believe, that, the 2014 FIFA World cup finals, in Brazil, will be one of the most flamboyant, spectacular and massively attended world cup finals, to be organized by Blatter's FIFA. This is simply because the host Nation is Brazil.
Brazil, the land of the most colorful carnival in the entire world. Never mind the carnivals we organize here in Calabar, Port Harcourt, Abuja and Lagos.Fantastic i must confess, but still not like the original. Brazil, the land where futebol is played as if it were a dance. Brazil, the most popular and successful footballing nation in the entire world. Brazil, the only nation, that have qualified for every FIFA world cup, since the competition started in 1930. Brazil, the only nation to have won the FIFA world cup for a record five times. Brazil, the futebol "refinery", that produces annually produces the largest number of professional footballers playing in Europe. Check and you'll discover that over 200 sublime Brazilian footballers are involved in the European Champions league. Mention any football club making waves in Europe and you must have Brazilian players there.  No other nation is globally branded by a single sport, like BRAZIL
I was at France '98, Korea/Japan 2002 and Germany 2006. I can assure you president Blatter, add all the thrills and spectacles of '98, 2002 and 2006 together, they wont come near Brazil at all.
Yes, six of the nation's 12 host stadiums failed to meet FIFA's December 2013 deadline, and work on hotels, airports and roads have also been affected by delays. No problem mon president. This is not the first time such will happen. Is it? Remember that the pre-2010 world cup confederation cup in South Africa, could not take place at the designated stadium and despite that, the JABULANI will remembered all over the world for a very long time.
This is why i can assure you sir, that what you saw during the 2013 confederation cup in Brazil was just a tip of what to expect during the 2014 finals. Need i remind you sir that Brazil won the confederation cup?. BRAZIL 3, SPAIN 0. Like we say here in Lagos, Nigeria, - 3 kondo.

In Nigeria, for example, sports - especially football, is regarded as the only 'thread' that unites us as a Nation. Not religion or politics.
Interestingly, however, the core values of sports, which, we believe can assist tremendously in making Nigeria and the entire world a very peaceful place, have not been adequately addressed.
This is why we have decided that this blog site will be totally dedicated to discussing these core values of sports with you, throughout 2014 and deo-volente, beyond.
